IX th NATIONAL F.I.T.E. CONGRESS 2012 – TAEKWON-DO I.T.F. PDF Print E-mail

As every year the International TaeKwon-Do Federation Spain “F.I.T.E.” held its Annual Congress, on the 20th , 21st and 22nd of January this year. TaeKwon-Do practitioners from different parts of the country arrived, which included delegations from Madrid, the Canary Islands, Andalucia, Valencia, Zaragoza and Galicia. The members of the F.I.T.E. did not want to lose this opportunity to learn from the experience of the Grand Master Hwang Ho Yong, 9th Dan and highest authority of the "International TaeKwon-Do Federation" ITF in the field of education and technique.

The facilities of the Lyceum Society of Noia, represented by Mr. Ramon Carracedo, offered the best hospitality to all the delegations, as usual.

January 20th began with the test for categories of fifth dan, where the instructors from Noia Mr. Antonio Blanco and Mr. Sergio Maneiro, gained through their brilliant execution, a new promotion. Once the test was completed the Grand Master Hwang Ho Yong did not fail to mention the good level shown by both candidates. Then the media sought to immortalize the moment through a photo gallery that would serve to ultimately to be home of La Voz of Galician newspaper, the following morning. The presentation to television media had a special section within the tight schedule, where the President of the F.I.T.E., Mr. Carlos Martín, wanted to acknowledge the presence of the accredited journalists, without forgetting to mention the great work that makes the Lyceum Society of Noia in each event that is organized in the town.  

In the early afternoon and for two hours, national coach, Mr. Diego Bua, conducted the first selective trainings to form the national team that will participate at the next European Championships in Bulgaria, next April. Training served to the participants to meet the objectives and requirements of the coach, in order to maintain the level shown in the past World Championships.

The Annual Assembly took place at 19:00 p.m. where all the members of the FITE gathered to see the work that is involved. They dealt with different issues relating to the internal workings, review of the calendar of national and international events, as well as new additions. It should be noted the comparative growth the previous year put at 38%, which showed that the raised lines were correct.

January 21st, began with the technical seminar for more than 150 registered practitioners. All instructors of the F.I.T.E were able to share experiences with Grand Master Hwang Ho Yong, in a day divided into two sessions. The words of the Grand Master emphasized at all times the understanding of the "Do" without which the concept of the martial art would be impossible to assimilate. With a constant repetition of the importance of education in TaeKwon-Do, the students performed patterns from white belt onwards. After the lunch break to replenish our bodies, continued with the technical work where the implementation of the technical extracted from patterns, was vital for the interpretation of the pre-established sparring of Three, Two and One step. Looking for constant improvement were passing the hours without a break, ending the session at 8: 00 pm.

Following the event marked by the Organization, That evening the participants were able to share table and tablecloth with Grand Master Hwang, who Would enjoy a Typical  Galician dinner in a relaxed atmosphere offered by the attendees. Before the evening end presentations were made of different awards; Firstly the delegation of Andalucia received an award for being the fastest growing community in 2010 and 2011, Secondly to the national coach Mr. Diego Bua to bring the team to obtain the world championship in Pyong Yang during the month of September, to Mr. Artur Ababii as best international competitor of the year, to Mr. Martin Zamécnic assistant and translator of the Grand Master for his excellent work and support during the Congress of the F.I.T.E. , and finally to the Grand Master Hwang Ho Yong in thanks for his teachings during the three-day seminar. The night ended with Galician traditional music in honor to the honorees.


January 22nd In the morning session, the black belts had the opportunity to work and improve the techniques of his degree where were humming to detail each of the techniques and their application. Finally grouping together with the color belts, they interacted in different exercises for enjoyment of the students, who could train with all instructors of the F.I.T.E. demonstrating the importance of respect for the tenets of TaeKwon-Do; Courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. Congress gave closure to adults with words of thanks from the President of the F.I.T.E., who once again highlighted the great response from all taekwondoists, not to mention the exquisite treatment of the people from Noia authorities who opened the gates of the Town Hall so that the ITF Taekwon-Do felt at home. The Presentation of diplomas was received rapturous applause from the hand of the Grand Master Hwang Ho Yong of the Councillor of sports Ms. Mari Dominguez and the steering of Liceo Mr. Marcos Prego.


The afternoon session was reserved for the children, who did not want to miss the opportunity to learn from the wisdom of one of the greatest exponents of the ITF TaeKwon-do at present. There were two hours of hard work in pursuit of constant interaction with the students and their parents, who swarmed the campus. During practice, Grand Master Hwang approached them as an important part in the understanding of TaeKwon-Do as a method of education, making reference to the values which are transmitted in the classes in the same way as in homes and schools. This way family members were merged as one participant of the seminar, which they wanted to portray in a final group picture full of big sensations.
